Filipino Food Month Las Vegas

During the Filipino Restaurant Week, these restaurants served their special dishes featuring coconut as an ingredient as an off menu offering. Fourteen restaurants within the valley participated. The chefs are in complete control of how the ingredient coconut will be used in these dishes.

Scanning a QR code by the restaurant entrance enables customers to join a special raffle drawing with the grand prize to be a round trip ticket to the Philippines courtesy of Philippine Airllines.

BAHAY BUKO SOCIAL

To cap off our activities, we celebrated with an event on Monday, April 29th, from 5:30PM to 10PM, called BAHAY BUKO SOCIAL at THE ASSEMBLY at THE UNCOMMONS on Rozita Lee Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89113.

Mouth watering dishes, whether fusion or a reinterpreted tradition, is always a good come-on for a get together. The chefs and restaurant owners did their absolute best in making BAHAY BUKO SOCIAL a memorable one. Taste buds were teased as they offered tasting portions of their culinary creations.

To wit: chef Roman of TAVERNA COSTERA offered Chilean Sea bass with Nata de coco topping while Chef Alex of FULL HOUSE BAR B Q created a Taco Birra with coconut milk!

BAHAY BUKO EVENT at THE UNCOMMONS

29 APRIL, 2024

The Assembly on Rozita Lee Avenue

This first ever event is a collaborative effort initiated by the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Nevada (FACCGN), whose aim is to help promote locally owned Filipino restaurants, Filipino chefs, and Filipino talents in Las Vegas. The chamber formed a committee headed by restaurant owner Magnolia Magat to lead in harnessing the cooperation of other restaurants in the Las Vegas area. LUNA DESIGN was tasked to develop the branding of the event.

USING OUR COCONUTS!

Filipino Restaurant Week happened on April 20th to April 28th . Each participating chef focused on 2 - 3 dishes that were offered as a special menu in their own restaurants.  They showcased ingenious dishes, whether Filipino or Filipino-inspired, using coconut as one of the ingredients.

Coconuts, or buko as we call them in the Philippines, hold a cherished place in our culinary heritage. Renowned for its versatility, coconuts render their subtle yet distinct flavor to a myriad of Filipino dishes, enhancing both sweet and savory flavors alike. This ingredient takes center stage at the Bahay Buko Social at The Assembly, at The Uncommons. #FilipinoFoodMonth #Filamfood #filipinofood

The guests were treated to a sampling of all the different menu items, binging all 14+ restaurants in one venue.  And of course, what’s a Filipino party without live music?  Bahay Buko Social features local Filipino music artists to entertain the guests.
