Design Center Philippines wanted to publish a large collection of Philippine ethnic patterns gathered from different regions of the nation into a visually cohesive and adaptable format that can be a product developer’s sourcebook and inspiration.
Philippine Ethnic Patterns: A Design Sourcebook is a rich cultural resource for designers and design students. Authored by Dr. Jesus Peralta, and designed by Luna Design Partners, it presents various ethnic patterns grouped according to materials - bamboo, metal, terra cotta, textiles, wood craft, and processes used to achieve such patterns, with their provenance.
An essay introduces each section and tells the 'story' behind the patterns.
